Microneedling

Microneedling is also known as collagen induction therapy or Microchanneling, it is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure designed to rejuvenate the skin by creating thousands of microscopic punctures in the top layer of the epidermis. Using a specialized handheld device equipped with fine, sterile needles, a practitioner(*) creates controlled "micro-injuries" that trigger the skin’s innate ability to repair itself. This versatile treatment is widely celebrated for its ability to reduce the appearance of acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation, making it a popular alternative to more aggressive laser treatments or deep chemical peels.

(*; in California the only professionals allowed to provide Microneedling are Doctors, Acupuncturist and Nurses.)

  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles- By boosting collagen and elastin production, microneedling helps firm and tighten the skin, which softens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, particularly around the eyes, mouth, and forehead.

  • Improves skin tone and texture- Microneedling promotes cell turnover and the generation of new, healthy skin cells, leading to a smoother, more even, and radiant complexion. It is effective for addressing rough patches, dullness, and uneven skin tone.

  • Minimizes scars and stretch marks- It is a popular and effective treatment for various scars, including atrophic acne scars, surgical scars, and burn scars. By breaking down old scar tissue and encouraging new collagen to fill in depressions, it reduces scar visibility and improves the skin's texture. Microneedling can also help reduce the appearance of stretch marks on areas like the abdomen and thighs.

  • Shrinks enlarged pores- The procedure helps minimize the appearance of large pores by stimulating collagen around them, which plumps and tightens the surrounding skin, making the pores look smaller.

  • Fades hyperpigmentation and sun damage- Microneedling can help reduce discoloration, age spots, and sun damage by promoting cell turnover and allowing damaged layers of skin to be shed. It is considered a safer option for individuals with darker skin tones compared to some laser treatments, as it carries a lower risk of heat-induced pigmentation issues.

  • Enhances product absorption- The micro-channels created during the procedure significantly improve the absorption and efficacy of topical skincare products like serums, moisturizers, and growth factors, allowing them to penetrate deeper into the skin.

  • Supports hair growth- When performed on the scalp, often in combination with topical treatments like minoxidil or platelet-rich plasma (PRP), microneedling can stimulate blood flow and growth factors to encourage hair regrowth for conditions like alopecia.

  • Minimally invasive with minimal downtime- Microneedling is a non-surgical procedure with a relatively short recovery time compared to more intensive treatments like laser resurfacing or deep chemical peels. Most people experience mild redness or swelling, similar to a sunburn, which typically subsides within a few days.
